Information on Milk Protein Allergy

GOSH have been giving out copies of the Allergy edition of "Small Talk" from Nutricia. It contains some excellent information on allergies, gut allergies and milk protein allergy in particular. It's publicly available here and well worth a read, especially the section by Dr Adam Fox, top Paediatric Allergist.

GOSH Inflammatory Bowel Disease Parents Open Day

Great Ormond Street Hospital
London Saturday 20th April 2013

Following patients and their families requests, the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Department at Great Ormond Street Hospital are holding an open invite day for people and family members affected by Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD).

The aim is to raise awareness of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and the specialist services available within GOSH to care for patients with IBD. Families will have an opportunity to interact with the Multidisplinary Gastroenterology team in an informal environment and also to meet other families living with Ulcerative Colitis and Crohns.

To book your place, please pay a small fee of £5.00 and complete the online booking form:

If you have any queries about this course, please contact the team on 0207 762982." We hope to see you all there.

NB This is for families suffering from Ulcerative Colitis and Chron's, not EGID sufferers although some have both. Patients are welcome to attend this open day and for this reason we are limiting course attendance to one parent/carer and one patient per household on this occasion.

Marshmallow Pops!

Spotted these in the Suffolk Food Hall near Ipswich today. Whilst they will obviously not suit everyone several of these marshmallow pops were safe for my children!

I am loving the fact that small independent retailers are thinking out of the box and filling the gaps left by the larger companies who put profit first each and every time! ALL the bread and cakes at the Food Hall are made dairy free and they carry some lines which are also gluten free.
In addition they stock several Glebe farm gluten free products and a whole range of gluten free cooking ingredients too :)

So a BIG thumbs up to the Suffolk Food Hall today!
